The City That Never Sleeps

Today's Sinda Youth Club Networking Session was a very interesting one. Indeed an eye opener for me. Got to meet various individuals from different backgrounds, representatives of different youth groups in Spore. Interesting how a group of almost 20 individuals seem so passionate in what they do and want to make that positive difference in the society. Even if its a small difference each event or cause makes, its so satisfying and heart warming to see the effort and passion each individual has, to deliver what he can do his best to meet his objective. Its very often that people readily point fingers or blame a person for not delivering what he is supposed to and failing. Rarely do we clap and applaud what they actually succeeded in and what they got right. So instead of grumbling from our seats, lets get moving into making something better in the society. Impacting just that one other stranger would yield more gratification than all the usual stuff we engage in to keep ourselves happy.

Indeed I'm glad that serving the committee this year as a vice-president coz I see that I would be getting many opportunities to network beyond the scope of uni. I guess now I will be doing the macro things and no longer the micro like what I did last year for kathiroli and all the other events. Though alot of work seems ahead in the pipeline for the year, I am sure there would be much area for me to learn, explore, experiment with.

Today's session somewhat reminded me of the train the trainers session I attended late Jan. I guess I am beginning to enjoy the process of meeting new people, with fresh ideas, who can offer so much more than working around with the same group of people with similar ideas and networks. To a better and more effective committee! Lets make a difference somewhere along the way!

p.s. Ms. President indeed an honour to be working with you. HAHA! Jovin is indeed a humor I must say.
