So, it’s been a while. Things are pretty much going well, I must say. Just waiting for 2 more weeks of official school to be over and study break to begin. The craze would be ending soon in about exactly a month.
It’s a lazy Sunday with heavy raindrops beating against my window off and on. Talk about the irregularities of nature. As I did my favourite morning activity for every Sunday, the article MM Lee’s daughter wrote about why she should remain single caught my attention. The first reason she cited about how a mother had set the bar high was interesting to note. Instead of the conventional deeper family culture, tradition leads to similar traits being passed on. She proved to be the opposite rather. And by the way she is in her early 50s, happily single of course. But she did of course mention also what works for her may not work for all of us. So for those of you who need physical presence, continue searching, I say! And does financial power necessarily equate women being on the same level as men. I wonder. But for me, I definitely need to have control over my finances. Yes, I would depend on the guy. But if say we were putting forth our savings for a investment agreed upon together, my contribution has to be in it also. I guess with the dollars in check comes security. This security is something companionship alone wouldn’t be able to give. We need to be self sufficient through the uncertain times ahead of us. But of course for the cowardly men out there, controlling the finances single handly means their wives can’t leave them. |
