The City That Never Sleeps

You know I'm having a new automobile around for the past few days. Seeing how everyone wants to take care of the new ‘toy’-buy wiper, buy screen protector, prevent even a scratch from marring the shiny black accessory, makes me recall the book, The Last Lecture by the late Randy Paush. A book I thoroughly enjoyed reading, as soon as, I managed to lay my hands on; after watching videos of excerpts from his motivational speech. On an occasion, he writes about how he brings his young nieces and nephews on his new ride around town. As they are getting on, his sister warns the kids to behave themselves: not eat, drink, get their shoes muddy etc. And as this goes on, the kids begin giggling seeing how their Cool uncle empties a can of orange soda onto the leather seat. To remind us all, at the end of the day, the new automobile, convertible to be specific is “just a thing”.

Dang! Writing about the book makes me miss reading it. The book makes me pause to think, reflect on the really finer things in life. As often and clichéd "the finer things in life" may have become, it is very true and real. It’s just like how coffee needs milk no matter how basic it is, often forgotten or rather taken for granted. Analogy may suck, but that’s the picture. I definitely need to rejuvenate myself with the read after this hectic sem. I really need a well deserved break for surviving 2 years in NUS. Come May 6. Till then back to my books again!

a bit of an inchorent entry with grammatically illogical sentence structures but uh, wadever. chaio.
