The City That Never Sleeps

It’s the kind of feeling that I get stuck to each and every time. The kind that makes me stop trying and attempting to work things out. To change the view of the outside world to whom I appear to be cold and heartless. It’s just a front I put up, a mask that disguises me. The real me who yes gets angry very easily but at the same time would not hesitate to show how much I care for the person the next moment. But yes maybe my signs of affection and concern are very different. But nevertheless sometimes I wish it would come out in the right way, get across to the right people in the right manner.

MORE THAN JUST A LABEL

We like to keep everything organized in our life, I mean who does not right? It makes life a lot easier to live if everything is in it's right place. No complications = No worries. The simple equation says it all as to why people are afraid to try something new or be out of the box. Anyways, one of the things that all of us are guilty of is labeling people for what they are. We label them as conyo, or an Alabanger, jologs, and the other things so that we can organize them as well. We label people because it is much more simple than getting to really know them. We make the labels speak for themselves because it does not complicate anything. Same equation, no complications = no worries. However, it is these same labels that objectify the person for what they are and not who they really are. Sometimes the labels hide the uniqueness of the person and he/she is lost in the commonality of things. Other times, we hide in the labels that were thrown at us. We masquerade ourselves to the label because it is a lot easier than being ourselves or we are ashamed as to who we really are. What hurts is that people are wrongfully labeled, therefore carrying this burden unjustly. People lose themselves because they let the labels define who they are.
